Configure Managed Switches with VLANs

Managed switches across the network need a complete, clean configuration. The primary objective is precisely that—network switch configuration—and it must incorporate full VLAN provisioning.

Current state
• Switches are installed, reachable, and running factory defaults.
• No VLANs exist yet, but several must be carved out for user, voice, and guest traffic.

Scope of work
1. Plan the VLAN scheme in line with the IP addressing file I will share.
2. Create the VLANs, label them clearly, and map access ports to the correct segments.
3. Establish trunk links between switches so inter-switch traffic flows without loops.
4. Enable essential security and stability features (e.g., STP tuning, basic port security) suited to managed switches.
5. Save and verify the running configuration on every device.

Deliverables
• Finalised switch configs (text files).
• A concise hand-over document summarising VLAN IDs, port assignments, trunks, and any critical commands applied.
• Confirmation that devices come back online with minimal downtime during the agreed maintenance window.

Remote console access and a simple network diagram will be provided once we schedule the work.
