Assign Azure VM SQL Server a Public IP for the NIC interface.

Job ID: 40379009

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m running SQL Server on an Azure VM. RDP already works through an existing connection, yet the network interface still shows “None” under Public IP. I want a clean association of a public IPv4 address directly on that NIC without breaking current access.

You’ll log in with me (screen-share or temporary role assignment), create or select the correct Public IP resource in the portal, PowerShell, or az CLI, bind it to the primary NIC, and confirm the VM stays reachable. No other settings should be altered unless needed to keep the machine secure.

Deliverables
• Public IP (IPv4, static) successfully attached to the VM’s NIC
• Proof of continued RDP connectivity after the change
• Brief summary of the exact steps so I can repeat them later

For an experienced Azure admin this should be a quick, straightforward task.
