Aruba CX VLAN-Specific Routing
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
My Aruba CX core switch is already running OSPF with redistributed static routes, so every subnet currently exits through the same OSPF-learned gateway. I now need to carve out 1–5 chosen VLANs (I have the exact IDs and IP ranges ready) and steer only their Internet-bound traffic toward an alternate next-hop via static routing, while the rest of the network continues to follow OSPF.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Review the present OSPF and static-redistribution setup on the switch (SSH/CLI access will be provided).
• Create or adjust the VLAN interfaces as required, confirming each SVI has the correct addressing, DHCP helper, and gateway information.
• Implement the new static routes and, if necessary, policy-based routing or route-maps so that the specified VLANs egress through the secondary uplink without disrupting existing OSPF advertisements.
• Validate that fail-over and route preference behave as intended; OSPF must remain authoritative for all other prefixes.
• Supply the final running-config snippets and a short change log so I can reproduce the setup on my standby core.
Experience with Aruba CX OS, routing policies, and mixed static/OSPF environments is essential. If you’ve handled similar split-egress scenarios before, I’d like to see a brief note or config sample when you respond.
