WireGuard VPN Setup for Security Camera Access

Job ID: 40084830

Budget: $250 – $750 CAD

I am looking for an experienced Network Engineer to set up and configure a robust WireGuard VPN architecture. The primary goal is to link multiple remote sites to a central server to allow for 24/7 live access to security camera streams.
The connection must be highly stable, secure, and optimized for high-bandwidth video data.
Scope of Work:
Server Setup: Install and harden a WireGuard server on [Insert your OS here, e.g., Ubuntu 24.04, Debian, or pfSense].
Site-to-Site Tunneling: Configure persistent tunnels between [Number of sites] remote locations and the central hub.
Routing & Subnets: Configure IP forwarding and static routes to ensure all NVRs and IP cameras are accessible across the VPN without IP conflicts.
CCTV Optimization: Optimize MTU settings and Persistent Keepalives to prevent video lag, packet loss, or tunnel drops during 24/7 streaming.
Security: Implement firewall rules (iptables/nftables) to secure the VPN endpoints and restrict access to authorized users only.
Remote Access: Provide WireGuard client profiles for mobile/laptop access to view the cameras remotely.
Required Skills:
WireGuard VPN (Expert level)
Linux System Administration (Ubuntu/Debian)
Networking & Routing (Subnets, NAT traversal, Port Forwarding)
Firewall Management (UFW, iptables, or MikroTik/pfSense experience)
Experience with RTSP/CCTV streaming over VPNs is a major plus.
Project Deliverables:
A fully functional Site-to-Site WireGuard network.
Documentation of the network map and IP assignments.
A brief guide on how to add new peers/sites in the future.
Confirmation of stable 24/7 streaming for at least 48 hours.
