Ubiquiti Firewall, Switch, and Access Points Setup
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm looking for an experienced network engineer to configure my Ubiquiti firewall, switch, and access points for a business environment. The internet connection is via DHCP.
Key requirements:
- Configure WAN settings
- Create VLANs 10-25
- Create VLAN 99 for management
- Block inter-VLAN routing between unit VLANs
- Allow VLANs to access the internet
- Allow VLAN 99 to access all VLANs for management
Switch Configuration:
1. Adopt 24-port PoE Pro switch in UniFi Controller.
2. Assign:
• Ports 1–16 → Unit VLANs (matching patch panel).
• Ports 17–20 → AP VLANs (could be same as units or a shared network).
• Uplink port to UDM-SE → Trunk (all VLANs).
3. Enable PoE only on ports powering APs or in-wall switches.
4. Configure SSIDs:
• Either per-unit SSID mapped to VLAN (most private).
Ideal skills and experience:
- Proficiency in Ubiquiti products
- Strong understanding of VLANs and firewall configurations
- Experience with DHCP setups
