Onsite - System Support Engineer
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I need a hands-on systems engineer for one full day at my client’s office to get a small network refresh over the line. You’ll be the person on the ground while my remote team stays on standby.
Your main focus will be racking, cabling, powering up, and patching the new routers, switches, and firewalls exactly as shown in the network diagram I’ll provide in advance. Once they’re in place, you’ll hook up a console cable so our engineers can jump in remotely and complete the configuration.
Before leaving, give the end-user area a quick health check: basic troubleshooting for a few desktops, laptops, and printers—things like loose cables, simple imaging, or test prints to be sure everything talks to the refreshed network.
Deliverables (end of day)
• All routers, switches, and firewalls mounted, powered, patched, and reachable via console
• Short handover note with device serials, port map, and any anomalies
• Confirmation that the desktops, laptops, and printers you touched boot, connect, and print without errors
It’s a straightforward onsite sprint, but I need someone comfortable working independently, labeling neatly, and keeping communication open while you’re on the floor.
