We're seeking an experienced freelance Network or System Engineer for a one-day onsite technical support assignment. You'll work alongside a remote technical team to handle installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, or hardware replacement at a customer site.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive at the customer site at the scheduled time
- Coordinate closely with the remote technical team throughout the engagement
- Perform basic network and system support tasks
- Install, replace, or troubleshoot network and server hardware
- Rack and stack equipment; connect cables and verify physical connections
- Assist with device configuration under remote team guidance
- Document work via photos and serial number collection; provide real-time onsite updates
- Test equipment functionality after work is completed
- Submit a final onsite report with photos before leaving
Requirements
- Proven experience in Network or System Engineering
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, servers, or similar IT equipment
- Ability to follow remote technical instructions accurately
- Strong English communication skills
- Own laptop with reliable internet access
- Basic toolkit (screwdrivers, console cable, Ethernet cable, etc.)
- Willingness and ability to travel to the customer site
Preferred Skills
- Experience with enterprise hardware brands: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, HPE, Dell, Lenovo, or similar
- Familiarity with rack & stack procedures, hardware replacement, structured cabling, and basic network troubleshooting
