One-Day Onsite System Engineer
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
A client site is scheduled for a single-day network refresh and I need practical, onsite support to get everything up and running smoothly. The work centres on Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls—full rack-and-stack, cabling, power-up, port patching, and console connections so I can finish the remote configuration later. While you are there, a quick round of basic troubleshooting on a few desktops, laptops, and printers will make sure the user floor keeps moving.
You’ll work from clear rack diagrams and port maps, independently, with me available by phone for any clarifications. Experience in live environments is essential; the office must remain operational while gear is swapped.
Deliverables on hand-off:
• All Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls physically installed, powered, and reachable over the network
• Console leads in place and labelled for remote access
• Brief handover document listing device serials, port assignments, and any notable observations
• Confirmation that spot-checked end-user systems (desktops, laptops, printers) pass basic connectivity tests
The job starts first thing in the morning and should wrap the same afternoon once acceptance tests are signed off.
