Hybrid Network Setup & Maintenance
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
My office relies on a hybrid infrastructure—cabled desktops, VoIP phones, and multiple Wi-Fi access points working side by side—yet throughput is spotty and devices drop off at peak hours. I need full-scope IT tech support focused on network setup and ongoing maintenance so the wired and wireless segments operate as one seamless environment.
The job covers:
• Assessing the current topology, identifying bottlenecks, and documenting every switch, router, access point, and patch panel
• Reconfiguring the core switch and wireless controllers for optimal VLAN, QoS, and security policies
• Standardising SSIDs and roaming so laptops, tablets, and IoT devices hand off without interruption
• Hardening the network (firewall rules, WPA3 where possible, firmware updates) and setting up basic monitoring/alerts
• Delivering a clear network diagram, all configuration backups, and a concise maintenance checklist I can follow or hand to future staff
I’m open to mainstream enterprise tools—think Cisco IOS, Ubiquiti UniFi, MikroTik RouterOS, or comparable platforms—so long as the end result is stable, fast, and secure. Remote work is possible for most tasks, but if any on-site changes are required we can schedule them after initial assessment.
Success is measured by consistent gigabit speeds on the wired side, reliable 5 GHz coverage on Wi-Fi, and zero unexpected disconnects for a full week after deployment.
