Windows Media Home Server Build
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a technically sound freelancer to design and configure a custom home server that runs on Windows and can be reached through a clean, browser-based interface from anywhere. The box will host all my videos, music and photos, so performance and an intuitive media library are important.
Core requirements
• Windows-based installation and optimisation
• Redundant drive setup for automatic backups (RAID or similar)
• Secure remote access with solid password protection and a properly configured firewall
• Simple-to-use web UI for uploading, streaming and file management that works on desktop and mobile
Please handle the full workflow—from advising on hardware parts and network needs, to installing the OS, setting up the media/file services, hardening security, and giving me a brief hand-over session so I can manage routine tasks myself.
If this sounds like your wheelhouse, let me know what stack or tools you’d suggest and an estimated timeline for getting everything up and running at my home.
