IT Technician
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Role Description:
A great opportunity to add to any CV. The aim of this role is to help speed up IT equipment refurbishment to clients, by configuring laptop and desktop machines. The IT Technician will be required to inspect IT equipment, diagnose faults on machines, re-configure and re-image (load any software necessary for user to start working) as well as decommissioning of old machines, fixing those machines where possible and redeploying to clients. The incumbent must have excellent knowledge of technology equipment as well as:
* extensive understanding of generic company systems and processes
* excellent knowledge of LAN/ WAN networks
* expert on internet services
* expert on email services
* security management specialist
* exceptional with laptops and desktop equipment
* installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
* diagnostic and troubleshooting for hardware and software faults
* root cause analysis and identify common trends with issues
* excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* current best practices for technology systems, equipment, software, and security
* handle confidential information with discretion and work independently and with a team
* problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise work efficiently
* highly focused on weekly Project Targets and Deliverables
The applicant will be required to coordinate successfully all equipment related activities, all support related activities, prioritising impactful tasks over others while following up with service providers concerning deliverables. They will be required to be in good health, be physically capable to move equipment around, work in a dynamic corporate team, where professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness is highly important for our client. The environment is fast paced, constantly administering and deploying technology related changes. They must not be afraid to take on new responsibilities, be able to work overtime on short notice and be committed to do so when asked, work well in a team environment to contribute to overall company objectives
There are three main areas where the applicant will be working:
* Laptops
* Desktops
* Network environment
* End-User environment
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
* Industry Professional Certification: A+; N+, MCSE, MCSA, MCP
* Fundamentals of Windows Server Infrastructure
* Microsoft 2013 (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
* Microsoft Windows 8
* MS Security; (user rights, group policies, patch management)
* SQL knowledge added advantage
