Redundant IPv4 & IPv6 Routing (BGP/VRRP/etc) & Switching (OSPF/etc) Configs & Support (inc. VPN/VLANs/etc)
Budget: $250 – $750 AUD
I'm looking for an expert to configure a redundant routing and switching setup for my network.
This will involve working with 2x MikroTik CCR1072 routers, 2+ HPE E3800 switches (for OOB/VPN), and 2+ Dell S4048-ON switches. The final configuration should culminate in BGP paired with OSPF to effectively route Proxmox VE guest traffic to the internet via IPv4 and IPv6 (RIR-issued prefixes). Same with allowing inbound connections to those IPs, such as with Corporate VPN via tagged copper ports on the Corporate Server, allowing it to route out to each internal VLAN to allow for remote maintenance and Corporate Network usage - while keeping all functional LANs segregated and private, not WAN-accessible.
Key Requirements:
- The primary goal of this setup is to enhance the reliability of the network. Therefore, the configuration should be robust enough to handle potential failures without any real impact on network uptime/resilience. For instance, a router, switch or transceiver/cable should be able to fail "silently" - as in there is no impact due to the failure due to LACP and OSPF being used along with something like VRRP at the top.
- Uptime & Routing Efficiency are critical aspects of the configuration. The successful bidder should have a deep understanding of redundant routing & switching design, and be able to implement and support configurations which maximise network uptime and routing efficiency for our premium service holders.
- The configuration should prioritize traffic from Proxmox VE guests out to the WAN. Experience with traffic prioritisation and Quality of Service (QoS) settings would be an advantage, however the most fundamental strength for this project is having enough experience to successfully build this well.
- Deliver the Intellectual Property at completion, ie. this job includes full ownership transfer.
Ideal Skills:
- Extensive experience with MikroTik, HPE & Dell networking equipment - most critically, experience working around Data Centre / Hosting Provider routing and switching logic/design.
- Proficiency in BGP and OSPF configurations, including their IPv6 counter-parts.
- Strong understanding of Proxmox VE networking, inc. VLAN tagging, LACP, etc.
- Ability to design and implement a reliable, efficient, and traffic-prioritised network configuration.
- Experience and capability to write the requisite configs, deliver and then support them into production use. (ie. Not to bid for the job, draft up concepts and then not support it - the configs must do the job!)
Please get in touch for additional info to help you submit a proper proposal to take this small scale yet thoughtfully engineered project to the next level. Many thanks! :-)
