OPNsense Configuration for ZTE ONT & H3600P
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm seeking assistance with configuring my OPNsense firewall/router to properly route internet from my ZTE ONT and ZTE H3600P router. The router does not have a bridge mode, and I've faced challenges trying to set up the OPNsense to take over routing from the ISP.
Here's a brief overview of what I've tried:
- Connecting the OPNsense WAN to the ONT using VLAN tagging, Ethernet, and configuring PPPoE.
- Setting the ZTE router to DMZ.
Despite these attempts, I've encountered issues such as:
- No internet connection when using VLAN tagging.
- Difficulty getting the system to function correctly, with the goal of utilizing the OPNsense for all routing, rather than the ISP.
I have a static IP, but the ISP does not provide a VLAN ID or settings. Therefore, I need help to determine the best approach to set up my network. Ideal skills for this project include deep knowledge of OPNsense, experience with ZTE equipment, and familiarity with static IP configurations.
