Network connection troubleshooting

I have a piece of equipment on our network in the office that is constantly disconnecting. I have worked with the manufacturer to troubleshoot the problem and even replaced the router. They have given up and said that I need to find someone who could use a packet sniffer like wireshark to see where the problem is. I would really like to get an idea of how much it would cost for this.
