Network Engineer for Virtual Machines & IPv4 Management

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage a network of virtual machines (VMs) with static private IPv4 addresses - for a 1 time project.

The ideal candidate will have experience with OpnSense and managing network configurations to ensure seamless internet connectivity and remote access.
Responsibilities:

- Configure OpnSense to manage network traffic and ensure VMs can connect to the internet
- Set up and manage NAT (Network Address Translation) to allow remote users to connect to their permanently assigned VMs from anywhere in the world
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Ensure network security by configuring firewalls and access controls
- Document network configurations and maintain detailed records of network changes


Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or relevant position
- Strong understanding of IPv4 addressing, subnetting, and NAT
- Experience with OpnSense or similar firewall and routing software
- Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, routers, and switches
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
