Need advice regarding troubleshooting network connections

I am using a barcode equipment to scan the tags by connecting a lan cable from my computer to network POE switch to barcode equipment. It works fine with my current computer but when I connect a lan cable to another computer, it doesn’t work and won’t transfer the data back to the computer. I have very limited knowledge of networking and need help with figuring out the problem. I think issue could be switch settings or the equipment settings.
