Link Ionos Domain to Server
Budget: $8 – $15 USD
I have a personal domain registered at Ionos and a fully-running home server that already hosts the site under an alternative local address. What I need now is for the outside world to reach it.
The job is straightforward: point the domain to my home server and make sure it loads my site, which is built on a different CMS than WordPress or straight HTML. The server is online and the web service is listening on its public-facing port; I just haven’t touched the DNS settings at Ionos or the router rules needed to expose it properly.
Here’s what I expect when we finish:
• The Ionos DNS records are correctly set (A/AAAA, CNAME or any required sub-domains).
• Any router or firewall rules are adjusted so traffic reaches the server. I am using huwae router
• The site resolves from the domain on standard ports, ideally over HTTPS with a valid certificate (Let’s Encrypt is fine).
• A quick walk-through of what you changed so I can maintain it later.
You can guide me step-by-step or remote in—through teamvviewer. Once the domain is live and I can pull up the homepage from an external network, the task is done.
