Implementing a software defined network using ONOS
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am looking to implement a software defined network using ONOS. I am currently looking for an individual who has a strong understanding of software-defined networking (SDN) to assist me with an experiment that I need to design on CloudLab.
My goal is to showcase the key principles of centralized control in SDN by rerouting packets.
For this experiment, I need to create a topology with 4 external ISPs connected to 4 transits, which are then connected to an ONOS switch that has an ONOS controller. Each node in the topology will be a virtual machine running Ubuntu 18/20, and I will need to highlight a principle of SDN in my design.
The experiment will involve two scenarios, where in the first scenario, all traffic will go through expensive ISPs (ISP1 > Transit > ISP3 > users), while in the second scenario, some traffic will be routed through a cheaper ISP (ISP2 > Transit > ISP3/ISP4 > users) due to changes in business requirements. I will need to show that changes can be implemented in a centralized way.
Later, I plan to extend the topology to include a video streaming service. I will need to install rules for traffic shaping on downstream ISPs and consider whether the choice of hardware type will affect my design.
I am looking for someone who can help me install the necessary software, perform the experiment, and observe the output in both scenarios.
