IPv6 Network Design for ISP and Corporate

1. Assessment & Readiness Evaluation
• Conduct a thorough audit of existing network infrastructure, including Core routers, CGNAT routers, MPLS & aggregation network, VSAT hub, remote networks., and internal network
• Evaluate hardware, software, and applications for IPv6 compatibility.
• Assess IPv6 readiness of current monitoring tools and propose necessary upgrades.
• Identify gaps in existing infrastructure
2. IPv6 Transition Strategy & Roadmap
• Develop a customized IPv6 transition strategy aligned with Client’s business objectives.
• Define a phased migration plan including dual-stack configurations
• Provide a timeline and milestone-based approach for smooth implementation.
3. Network Design & Configuration
• Design an IPv6-compatible architecture covering all network layers.
• Recommend IPv6 addressing schemes (prefix allocation, subnetting strategies).
• Optimize routing protocols (OSPFv3, MP-BGP, IS-IS) for IPv6 scalability and efficiency.
• Implement security measures such as IPv6 firewall rules, RA guard etc
4. Risk Assessment & Mitigation Strategies
• Identify transition risks (e.g legacy device compatibility issues).
• Propose mitigation plans, including failover strategies and rollback mechanisms.
• Perform analysis for critical services such as NAT64/DNS64 handling.
5. Training & Knowledge Transfer
• Develop training programs for MEASAT’s network team on IPv6 fundamentals and operational practices.
• Conduct interactive workshops on IPv6 Configuration.
• Provide technical documentation for future reference.

6. Pilot Testing
• Execute pilot testing in a controlled environment before full-scale deployment.
• Validate IPv6 configurations, routing behavior, and application performance.
• Capture results and refine configurations for optimized deployment.
• Rest of deployment done by Client
7. Deployment Support & Advisory
• Provide post deployment support after Pilot IPv6 rollout(Up to 1 month)
• Offer ongoing advisory services to ensure long-term success.
