Fortigate to Mikrotik Vpn IPsec Integration
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Need to integrate mikrotik to fortigate via IPsec Vpn & Failover if vpn fails for branch offices.
Main office had dual isp . Branch office had broadband internet.
Need vpn Failover between two isps & need to transfer all traffic from branch office to main office ex: web traffic
Excluding certain website need route via direct isp instead of vpn.
If dual isp fails, branch office has to work alone without downtime via direct internet
Main office - fortigate 80f
Remote office - mikrotik hex gr3
Case1:
Config isp 1 as primary vpn tunnel in mikrotik, suppose isp1 fails. Vpn link will switch over to isp 2 on mikrotik.
Case 2:
On branch office vpn is implemented mainly because of enable web filter through fortigate .
So, all internet traffic will go via fortigate to only.
Case 3 :
On branch office , they mainly using a billing software which is hosted on cloud. To avoid the latency of vpn. We have routed that website traffic alone to broadband internet instead of vpn .
Case 4 :
Suppose the firewall or power outage happens on main office which lead dual isp failure. On that case all traffic is routed to broadband internet as normal instead of vpn tunnel using mikrotik netwatch or script
