Azure File Server Deployment
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I need an Azure-based file server set up from scratch so my team can use it primarily for secure file storage of everyday documents and spreadsheets. Roughly 11 – 50 colleagues will be connecting, so permissions, performance and reliability all have to be configured with that scale in mind.
The job covers creating the storage account, provisioning an Azure Files share, integrating it with Azure AD/AD DS for seamless authentication, and mapping it so Windows and macOS users can access it as a standard network drive. I also want quota alerts enabled and a clear backup snapshot schedule so nothing is lost.
Once the share is live, I’ll need a concise hand-over guide that shows how to add or remove users, adjust NTFS-style permissions, and expand capacity later.
Deliverables:
• Fully operational Azure Files share ready for document and spreadsheet storage
• Role-based access configured for up to 50 users
• Written admin guide with screenshots and PowerShell/CLI commands used
I’ll test by connecting from two sample workstations and checking read/write speeds and permission accuracy. If everything matches the guide and access behaves as expected, the work is complete.
