-AI n8n build for a reddit posting bot.
Reddit Automation System Developer – Self-Hosted n8n Build for Creator Agency
Overview
We’re a content creator / OnlyFans management agency seeking an experienced automation developer to build a custom, self-hosted Reddit posting system using n8n.
This system will safely and intelligently post promotional content across multiple subreddits — fully rule-compliant, uniquely captioned, and never reposted — all running from our own private server.
It must integrate AI caption generation (OpenAI), AI image generation (via our custom API), and human-like behavior emulation to maximize account safety and realism.
⸻
Core Objectives
We need a complete automation system that can:
1. Use a Predefined Subreddit List
• We will provide a curated list of subreddits.
• Before each scheduled post, the system must check each subreddit’s live rules (via Reddit API or parsing logic) to ensure compliance.
• If a subreddit changes rules or no longer allows that content, the system automatically skips posting there.
2. Apply Each Subreddit’s Unique Rules
• Each subreddit’s rules differ (e.g., NSFW tags, title format, media limits, link bans).
• The system must read and apply those rules dynamically before every post.
• If posting violates any subreddit rule, the system should skip that subreddit for that run.
• This step is essential for long-term account safety and avoiding bans or removals.
3. Content Management + AI Media Generation
• The system should be able to pull content from two sources:
• Our internal media database (photos/videos)
• Our AI image generation API, which can generate new, unique visuals on demand using supplied prompts
• Each post must be logged in a database to ensure no media or caption is ever reused.
• Intelligent rotation or randomization logic should ensure all posts remain unique across subreddits and accounts.
4. AI Caption Generation + Human-Like Posting Behavior
• Captions: Automatically generate post titles and captions using OpenAI GPT-4 or GPT-5 API.
• Captions must fit the subreddit tone and rules, appear natural, and vary per post.
• Human-Like Actions:
• Incorporate simulated mouse movements, typing delays, scrolling, and random wait times when interacting with Reddit’s interface (if using Puppeteer/Playwright).
• Add natural variations between posts (e.g., random pauses, hover movements, slightly randomized cursor paths).
• This reduces automation detectability and makes the system behave more like a real user.
5. Automate Safe Reddit Posting (Multi-Account Support)
• Integrate through Reddit’s official API (OAuth2) or headless browser automation if required.
• Support multiple Reddit accounts under one system, each operating independently.
• Include strict anti-ban measures:
• Randomized posting schedules and delays
• Cooldowns per subreddit and per account
• Unique caption + media per post
• Account rotation and dynamic posting intervals
• If an account hits a rate limit or warning, the system should pause it automatically.
6. Post Tracking and Reporting
• Maintain a detailed PostgreSQL or Airtable log of:
• Account used
• Subreddit posted to
• Caption (AI-generated)
• Media source (internal or AI-generated)
• Timestamp
• Post status (success/failure/skipped + reason)
• Optionally, build a simple dashboard (via n8n UI or web panel) showing post activity, logs, and skipped subreddits.
⸻
Technical Setup
This will be self-hosted on our private, high-performance server (not in the cloud):
• Server Specs:
• Acer Nitro 60 Gaming Desktop
• Intel i7-14700F (20-core)
• 32 GB DDR5
• 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD
• NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti
• Gigabit Ethernet / Wi-Fi 6
Developer Tasks:
• Install and configure n8n self-hosted (Docker)
• Integrate PostgreSQL for tracking/logs
• Configure NGINX + SSL for secure access
• Integrate OpenAI API for caption generation
• Connect our AI Image Generation API for on-demand visuals
• Document all steps, environment variables, and API integrations clearly
⸻
Requirements
• Proven expertise in n8n automations (self-hosted, Docker, advanced workflows)
• Deep knowledge of Reddit API / OAuth2, or browser automation (Puppeteer/Playwright)
• Experience with AI integrations (OpenAI + image generation APIs)
• Familiarity with rule-checking / compliance parsing logic
• Ability to implement human-like interactions (mouse, keyboard, randomization)
• Experience designing anti-ban and scaling-safe automation systems
⸻
Bonus Skills
• Experience with Reddit marketing, community automation, or growth tools
• Knowledge of AI prompt engineering for text or image generation
• Background with content scheduling systems or multi-account orchestration
• Ability to build a small dashboard UI for tracking posts visually
⸻
Deliverables
• Fully functional, self-hosted Reddit posting automation system
• Rule-checking logic for every subreddit before posting
• AI-generated captions and AI image generation integration
• Non-repeating post tracking (no reposts)
• Multi-account management with randomization
• Human-like mouse movement and timing behaviors
• Full documentation and demo walkthrough
⸻
Success Criteria
Every post follows subreddit rules, verified before posting
No repeated captions or media across accounts
Smooth multi-account operation without bans or shadowbans
Captions and visuals are unique and AI-generated
Human-like actions make automation nearly undetectable
Comprehensive logs and reports for every post
Notes:
1. I want to run 5 accounts parallel to start but the goal is to be running 100+ accounts at once.
2. Browser based as it is less likely to be flagged for automation than using the api (I want to make this seem as human like as possible to Reddit).
3. do you prefer PostgreSQL only, or do you also want an Airtable view for your team - Not sure whatever is easy to run
4. Open AI for sure for the captions, I will get the API for the image gen.
5. The first version will be focused on posting. The overall goal of this is to use it for Only fans models to drive traffic back to their page and sell the subscribers to their agency
1. I want to run 5 accounts parallel to start to test it.
But it needs to be running 100+ accounts at once posting every set amount of time with random interval breaks : to look human – Ex. Account A – Posts at 1pm, post another post on a different sub at 1:07 , next post on a different sub at 1:10, next at 1:15 etc.
I need Account A, Account B, Account C all running at the same time posting to different reddit subs. I need to be able to label which sets of accounts pull from which Dropbox or google drive folder for the content and make sure those accounts that all post for the same girl don’t post the same image.
Ex.
Account A’s model is Alix – Alix has a drop box with 10000s of picture.
Account A posts a picture and title and decription on the sub /OFgirls.
5 minutes later account A posts on a new sub reddit (as long as the image posted to /ofgirls can fit the rules of the next sub say, /Blondeofgirls the bot can use the same picture.
Now:
Account B is also posting for Alix and using the same sub reddits:
I need account B to recognize that Account A posted the image it did in /ofgirls and select a different image.
For this system I plan to use n8n as the main brain that connects everything together. n8n is a visual automation tool. Inside it we can plug in the browser automation, OpenAI for captions, the image API, and the database. This lets us control when each account posts, how often it runs, and what happens if something fails, all from one dashboard instead of a lot of separate scripts.
I need this to be able to run fully autonomous once I press start 24 hours a day until I stop it.
