n8n Workflow Optimization

We’re looking for an experienced n8n specialist to finalize our chatbot workflow. The bot uses a Next.js API (deployed on Vercel) with MongoDB for user profiles and chat memory. Currently, the flow gets stuck in a profile loop and doesn’t persist sessions correctly.

Tasks

Configure HTTP Request Nodes

Set up getUserProfile & createUserProfile as POST calls using email as the key

Ensure raw‑body JSON is correctly formatted

Implement Session‑ID Handling via an “Edit Fields (Set)” node

Extract sessionId from the API response

Feed it into the MongoDB Chat Memory node as the session key

Set Up Chat Memory Node

Target MongoDB collection chat_memory, database Foodcoach

Use a context window length of 5 messages

Configure the Agent Node (“Your First AI Agent”)

Update the system prompt to include explicit <<…>> tool calls

Point the Memory setting to the Chat Memory node

Map tools to the correct HTTP‑request nodes

Testing & Documentation

End‑to‑end test: profile creation, chat memory persistence, 7‑day meal plan flow

Deliver a brief documentation of node configurations and settings

Requirements

Deep expertise in building and troubleshooting n8n workflows

Experience with HTTP Request nodes and raw JSON bodies

Familiarity with Next.js (Serverless API routes) and MongoDB

Understanding of chat‑memory concepts in conversational bots

Fluent English (written)
