VBS script SQL to MYSQL debug analysis

We have a script that processes 250,000 transactions every 15 minutes, it's been running correctly for over 2 years, but now it has stopped working.
Currently script runs till a certain function logs a ODBC time out error and proceed to get stuck in a loop.
The script is written in visual basic and uses windows scheduler to run. You will be required to work remotely on a Windows server and investigate why the script logs ODBC time out error logs the error and then get stuck in a loop.
The script basically takes data from MSSQL, does some checks then uploads it to MYSQL.
Only experts need apply for this role, must be able to work immediately.
Webserver admin and windows server admin is beneficial but not 100% required.
Job Spec, we would like to achieve
1, Find out what is causing the time out error and never ending loop.
2, Check any issues with illegal characters.
3, Logs errors to text file so we can easily diagnose in future.
We can send the script for review, personal information would be replaced but all work needs to be done on the server for data security. Need to request for server access to start remote sessions.
