Project Title: Advanced Integration of SportsPress with API-FOOTBALL on WordPress
Project Background

We operate a WordPress-based website focused on football, with a strong emphasis on the Moroccan national team as well as African and global competitions.
We aim to automate the entire management of competitions, results, standings, match sheets, and player profiles using SportsPress Pro and the API-FOOTBALL service (https://www.api-football.com/
).

Objective of the Mission

Fully configure SportsPress Pro to manage:

The Moroccan league (Botola Pro)

African competitions (AFCON, CHAN, CAF Champions League, etc.)

International tournaments (World Cup, etc.)

Automatically synchronize data using the API-FOOTBALL, with no manual intervention required.

Dynamically display all relevant data on the site using SportsPress:

Fixtures and results

Match sheets

League standings

Player profiles

Match books

Store data locally on our server to retain full editorial control (updates from the API must not overwrite manually edited data).

Use custom Python scripts to automate data import, synchronization, and business logic processing.

Detailed Scope of Work
API Integration

Secure connection to API-FOOTBALL (via API key)

Automated retrieval (via cron or webhook) of the following data:

Countries

Seasons

Leagues

Standings

Teams

Fixtures and Results

Head-to-Head stats

Match events (goals, cards, substitutions)

Lineups

Statistics

Players and Coaches

Top scorers

Transfers

Trophies

Suspensions and Injuries

SportsPress Pro Configuration

Set up competitions and leagues within SportsPress

Configure matchdays (game weeks) with dropdown selection

Define point system (Win: 3 pts, Draw: 1 pt, Loss: 0 pt)

Generate dynamic standings showing:

Matches Played (P)

Wins (W), Draws (D), Losses (L)

Goals For (GF), Goals Against (GA), Goal Difference (GD)

Points (PTS)

Customize the match sheet to include:

Starting lineup

Substitutions with minute details

Goals, assists, penalties

Yellow and red cards

Player Profiles

Auto-populate from API data

Display one player photo only

“National Team” section: show matches played each year per competition

“Career” section: club history and stats

Include stats: caps, goals, assists, matches played, red/yellow cards, etc.

Add trophy icons above the career section

Ensure local edits (e.g., correcting caps or goals) are not overwritten by the API

Match Books

Create match archive pages with results

Clicking a match leads to the full match sheet

Entire structure managed via SportsPress

Python Scripting

Build automated scripts to:

Fetch and transform API data

Update or create WordPress content via REST API or direct DB access

Prevent API from overwriting manually edited content

Schedule regular updates (daily/hourly)
