I have a brand-new Windows laptop that needs to be turned into a fully functioning development machine. The job is straightforward but must be carried out with care and documented in detail.

Your tasks
• Install the latest stable build of Claude Code and make sure it launches without errors.
• Add Visual Studio Code as the primary IDE for working with Claude Code.
• Download and configure MySQL (any current, stable release is fine—I have no version preference).
• Enable and configure IIS, leaving everything at its default settings, but confirm that VS Code can run and debug both Python and JavaScript projects smoothly.
• Provide a clear, step-by-step install log that lists every setting you changed and records every username, password, or port that was created along the way.

Acceptance criteria
• VS Code opens and successfully runs “Hello World” samples in Python and JavaScript through IIS.
• MySQL service starts automatically on reboot and is reachable from a local client.
• Claude Code launches and hooks into VS Code without manual tweaks.
• A single document (Markdown or Word) detailing the entire process, including download links, configuration values, and credential storage recommendations, is delivered.

That’s it—once the checklist is complete and the documentation is in my hands, the project is finished.
