MySQL Database Consolidation Project
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
As someone handling various data sources such as vendor Price Files, brand details files, and a POS export, I am in need of a SQL expert who can consolidate all this data into one organized MySQL database.
The key tasks for this project will be:
- Setting up a basic database system from the provided POS export
- Updating this database with product data from the vendor and brand files on a monthly basis
Skill sets and experiences I am looking for:
- Expertise in MySQL database setup and management
- Proficiency in handling and manipulating CSV/excel files
- Solid understanding of how to implement regular database updates
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate data consolidation
Moreover, the data will be provided in CSV format, thus, a good grasp of data extraction from this type of file is a must. By the end of this project, I aim to seamlessly pull all necessary reports from one location, therefore, an efficient, user-friendly database design is appreciated.
The uploaded files are examples and are not current, but do show the varying data types I am dealing with. We need to pull costing and SKUs from the vendor files, Images, MSRP, and Descriptions from the Brand Files, and we need to ensure costing is converted to each cost when listed as case costs.
A tricky problem to solve is many products are available from multiple vendors, so a relational table may be necessary to store costing and ordering data from each vendor for the same product.
This project is for building the database and getting the initial information entered. We can work out a plan for future updates once the database is functional.
