Manage SQL Datbase Tables

I have a software whose database is save in mySQL Tables, i have username and password to access those tables. Now i want to use data of those tables and connect them to other software, but when i am trying to connect those tables , error is coming those tables are in use. Now what i want is to use those tables with other softwares for just read only purposes on a real time basis.
