Seeking a skilled and experienced Database Specialist to join our team and work closely with developers to efficiently store and retrieve data in PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
Work Period: 3 Months.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with developers to design and implement database solutions for storing data in PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch. Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
- Assist developers in crafting efficient and well-optimized database queries. Analyze query performance and identify bottlenecks to improve query execution times and overall system performance.
- Work with developers to design and implement appropriate indexing strategies and database schema to enhance data retrieval efficiency and reduce query complexity.
- Participate in data modeling discussions with the development team to design logical and physical database models that meet application requirements and ensure data consistency.
- Implement robust backup and recovery procedures for both PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch databases to safeguard data against potential failures.
- Investigate and resolve complex database-related issues, including performance problems, data corruption, and data retrieval challenges. Provide expert-level support and guidance to the development team.
- Ensure data security and compliance with data protection policies and regulations. Implement access controls, encryption, and other security measures as required. Conduct regular security audits and recommend improvements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of database systems, including schema structures, queries, and optimization strategies, for reference and future improvements. Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.
