Enhance Existing Django Backend

I already have a live Django site that’s running well on the front-end but needs focused attention behind the scenes. I’m looking for a developer who can dive into the current codebase, identify bottlenecks, and deliver solid backend enhancements without disrupting day-to-day operations.

Here’s what I need help with:
– Refactor or extend existing models, views, and serializers to accommodate new business logic.
– Optimise database queries (MYSQL) and caching so key pages load faster under heavy traffic.
– Expose a small set of new REST endpoints using Django REST Framework and make sure they are covered by automated tests (pytest).
– Update outdated packages, apply security patches, and leave clear documentation/comments so future devs can follow the changes.

Acceptance criteria
• All new endpoints return the expected JSON responses and integrate smoothly with the current front-end.
• Unit and integration tests pass in CI; coverage stays above 90 %.
• Page-load performance improves measurably (we’ll compare before/after metrics).
• A concise changelog explains every major modification and migration.
