ChatGPT Integration for School Management

We are seeking a skilled and motivated developer to integrate ChatGPT (OpenAI) with our School Management Software, which uses a Microsoft SQL Server backend. The goal is to create an intelligent chatbot assistant that can accurately respond to queries about students, staff, exams, attendance, circulars, and other internal operations based on real-time data from our database.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrate ChatGPT (via OpenAI API) with the existing SQL-based school management software.
Build a secure interface or chatbot (via web or embedded in a portal) that allows users (teachers/admin/students) to ask questions in natural language.
Design prompts and queries so that the chatbot can convert user input into relevant SQL queries dynamically.
Ensure accurate and relevant answers for queries like:
"What is the attendance of student Riya Sharma in May?"
"Show the exam schedule for Class 10."
"List students absent today."
"Send me circulars issued this week."
Set up role-based access control, so sensitive data is shown only to authorized users.
Maintain logs and audit trails of queries and responses.
Handle exception cases, errors, and fallback messaging gracefully.
Optimize performance and ensure fast response time.
Required Skills:
Strong programming experience in Python or Node.js, especially in working with APIs.
Proficiency in OpenAI API (ChatGPT) and prompt engineering.
Strong command of SQL Server (T-SQL) and ability to write dynamic queries securely.
Experience with Streamlit, Flask, or any lightweight web framework for UI/chatbot frontend.
Familiarity with Windows Server environment and deploying applications on local or cloud-based infrastructure.
Basic knowledge of Data Privacy and Security compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an educational technology (EdTech) or school ERP environment.
Prior implementation of AI chatbots or voice assistants in any domain.
Familiarity with school-specific workflows like attendance, exams, student records, staff management, etc.
Deliverables:
Fully functional chatbot integrated with the school's SQL backend.
Secure web-based user interface (optional: integrate with school website or ERP).
Documentation covering:
Codebase and configuration
Deployment instructions
Admin guide to update SQL mappings or prompts
