Build a database with a few automated simple calculations -- 2

Develop a process for that pulls data from a handful of spreadsheets, runs a few simple calculations and outputs a table and write automatically into a spreadsheet. SQL is prefered.
The process has to be very transparent. Part of the job is teaching me the in and outs of it.
