"Stand Tall!"
LOGLINE: A singing-dancing Vegas casino waitress accidentally tripled in size becomes a Sin City showroom icon, falls in love with the scientist whose mishap made her a giant, then vows to rescue him when he’s kidnapped by three mutual rivals… including a blackmailing mobster.
"Stand Tall!" is a rom-com spin on the sci-fi subgenre of "giant woman" movies.
Colleen Cossitt, physically abused by her ex-husband, is inadvertently enlarged to 16-foot-1 1/8 by scientist Keswick Fletcher's Resizer device, hides from the world in his lab, and then is discovered by her eccentric billionaire casino boss. Hired as a Vegas showroom headliner, her singing, dancing and self-deprecating sense of humor wins the hearts of young and old (not to mention Keswick, now her manager). That romance falls through when she fires him over a six-figure gambling debt... but things suddenly change when Keswick disappears and a friend of Colleen learns he's been kidnapped. Now missing him, Colleen agrees to sacrifice the towering size she has grown to love, being reduced to her old stature by an updated Resizer in order to safely rescue the scientist. Alas, she also learns she can't re-grow and decides to retire from show business. The night of her farewell show, Keswick proposes to her and she accepts - then, as she sings a love song to her new fiance, the shrinking effect wears off and she soars back to triple scale. An ecstatic Colleen, thrilled to be a giant again, proudly announces her return to performing and the couple's engagement (while she'd given Keswick the option of not marrying her, he said he'd be true to his word). Once more her manager, Keswick gets a call from a studio executive for his re-enlarged fiancee to star in a movie... setting up a potential sequel ("Stand Tall, Hollywood!"?).
