Identify and categorize all the different sounds that happen in the first two minutes of “Nuées” by Myriam Boucher. Create a “graphic score” (handwritten on paper or using graphic design software) that depicts when each sound occurs and goes away throughout the first two minutes. Your score should have a timeline going along the top (or bottom) of the page. Devise/invent graphic symbols to represent each of the sounds as they occur on the timeline. The timeline will begin with 0:00 and can show as many time divisions as you feel are necessary, going from left to right on the page, up to 2:00. So the timeline might just indicate each 1/2-minute ( 0:00, 0:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00 ), or you might feel it necessary to have more detailed timeline ( 0:00, 0:15, 0:30, 0:45, 1:00, etc. ) or even more detailed ( 0:00, 0:10, 0:20, 0:30, 0:40, etc. ). Imagine you are a recording engineer and you are recording a bunch of players in the studio. You make the graphic score for them to follow when they perform the piece. Each player is responsible for playing one of these sounds, and needs to follow the timeline to see when to come in with their sound. They know when to come in when the symbol for their sound appears as they follow the timeline. So symbol for their sound should always appear in one horizontal line of the graphic score, so each player can recognize when they should come in. You could also think of the graphic score as a representation of the piece that will allow you to reproduce these two minutes of music in ableton, exactly as they happen in Myriam Boucher’s piece. https://drive.google.com/file/d/13LXYlkCoNKjc-iABT0APpQN237w-Sl2S/view?usp=sharing
