Heartfelt Country/Pop TV Theme Song
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I'm in search of an experienced songwriter versed in country and light pop music. The task involves composing a theme song for a TV show, which should carry an emotional and heartfelt mood.
I wish for the song to contain lyrics directly referencing the show's storyline and characters. This requires a keen understanding of the subject matter, creative lyric writing, and an ability to encapsulate the essence of the show in a lively tune.
Ideal Skills:
- Songwriting
- Knowledge of Country and Pop music
- Ability to work within specified mood and tone
- Skill in lyric-writing
- Experience in writing songs for TV Shows would be a plus.
A song that would reach into viewers' hearts and embody the spirit of the show is our goal. We a have a 2 week deadline. We want to use this song to go with the opening credit sequence of a documentary series on YouTube about lost railways (railway lines that have been abandoned and buried and built over). The project is Non-Profit and we are self funded. We would be very happy to credit you on the documentary, if yours is the theme that we use as well as pay for the services. You can see a sample of the documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHw7Av2OZrI
The preview episode was very popular, but our audience was mostly men aged 40 to 80 and many of them said our existing opening credits music was too loud and fast. We had tried to make the music sound like a train on the tracks going fast. We have decided we want a more romanticised song and something that tells a story in 35 seconds, whilst at the same time making it sound like a TV Program title music.
For more inspiration you might want to look at our website www.tracingtherails.com. Our credit sequence will be 35 seconds long, so the song could be 35-40 seconds. It could be one continuous song or it could be split into verse and chorus, we would trust the musicians expertise.
We wrote some lyrics below which tell a story and relate to the project and include our title, but you do not need to sing those words, especially if other words fit better or you feel creative. As long as the song is about exploring old English lost railways and includes the title of the show "Tracing the Rails" we will be happy. Some lyrics you could use or not are:
Winding through the heart of Sussex, where history unveils.
Exploring whispers, tales of steam, echoes of a line,
A journey through the railway past, where memories intertwine.
Exploring paths where trains once roamed, our first path the Steyning line (Steyning pronounced Stenning)
The essence of adventure, the spirit of the quest,
Discovering the tracks, where our heritage rests.
In every sleeper's silence, in every whistle's cry,
Such a past to be discovered under the wider Sussex sky.
A narrative unfolding, where the past and present blend,
Such stories to tell you, where the rails once extend.
In the shadows of forgotten tracks, we're tracing the rails
We definitely need help as we are film makers and not musicians!
