Garage Band and double keyboard set up

My husband uses a MacBook Pro with Garage Band and a keyboard to write music. He’s been having problems connecting a second keyboard. For Christmas I’d like to have someone to the guide him with set-up and practice using it, in person. (His preferred instrument is a B3 from the old days, but is stuck with this in our apartment!)
