Acoustic Guitar Track Editing

I am a mature age beginner guitar player and have written my first acoustic guitar finger picking piece. It is 64 bars in 3/4 time and I have it in Guitar Pro 8 format. I need it spiced up a bit, made more interesting and perhaps a bit jazzier (according to my son) but I still need to be able to play it afterwards. I have attached the piece here along with a terrible recording I made of an earlier version (I added a small middle section since that recording).
Can anyone help me here please?
