Music photographer to shoot a live gig on 6th December, London
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I am the manager of an unsigned band: 3Head. We play dub, Trip hop and that kind of stuff (think Massive Attack and Portishead style ref our music). We are performing live on 6th December - It is in a brewery in North london.
There will be 3 performers on stage as the main band - a drummer/percussionist who'll be triggering samples, a violinist and a rapper.
I have been in the past doing all the band shots but I'm a creative director not a professional photographer - and I want a professional photographer. And furthermore, also, I'll be DJ ing for the 1 hour warm up set before the band comes on so I need someone to do the following:
1) capture the event - not sure how many people will turn up but its not going to be a huge amount as we're not at all well known so it will be up to you to make the best of whatever you've got infront of you frankly and make it look like its banging! irrespective of any reality possibly
2) I need both individual shots of each of the band members which I can use for artwork either for future releases and also for publicity to put on our website and to the press etc in the future.
3) I'd be looking for BOTH some portraits, as well as backstage and ephemeral shots, AND live shots.
4) I have some pretty specific ideas of exactly what I'd be looking for from anyone who'd like to do this (please see attached pdf photoshoot photography brief)

I can olny put £100 up for this I'm afraid - anyone who does this - you'll get full credits but I'll need for you to agree that we'll have lisence to use the photos as we see fit ad infinitum ie you wil give us the copyright to them.
IF by any stroke of genius you could also do some video capture of the gig as well - that would be utterly brilliant. But my main concern is to get some really top notch photography

The day will probably start in the afternoon - they'll be an hour or so before the soundcheck maybe to get some individuals for individual and group portraits - but you'll have to think on your feet and more or less use whatever settings are in or around the venue - then - I'll be DJing - you can still capture the band backstage etc - then they'll play live - probably in the 8pm - 10pm window - then I'd like you to continue getting whatever images you can - again backstage and or crowd or whatever - and then that's it
I'll have the final edit but I'd be very happy to do that process with the photographer - dont worry - I've worked for some of the worlds best fashion and music magazines in my time - I know what an edit is and I know that I'd rather work with a talented photographer and I will respect creativity above all else (as a fellow creative)
