Pop Lead Sheet Transcriptions
Budget: $14 – $30 NZD
I have a small batch of pop songs – between one and five to start – that need clean, no-frills lead sheets. You will work from my audio recordings and capture only the essentials: the straight vocal melody on a single staff (Treble Clef) plus accurate chord symbols above it. Please leave out every ad-lib, vocal riff, dynamic marking, or stylistic flourish; I’m after a raw guide, not a performance edition. (Just do the basic transcription and nothing else)
Deliverables
• A separate MuseScore (.mscz) or universal MusicXML file for each song, bar-aligned and tempo-consistent. (MuseScore is preferred)
• The file must contain just one stave with the melody and the chord changes; nothing more.
- The sheet must be written in treble clef.
Acceptance check
– Melody matches the recording note-for-note in pitch and rhythm. No mistakes.
– Chords are correctly named and placed above the relevant beats.
– No engraving extras (lyrics, slurs, dynamics, repeats, engraver text).
Turnaround on the first batch should be quick; accuracy comes first, but speed will unlock ongoing bulk work that’s already queued. If you work primarily in Sibelius, Finale, Dorico, or another notation platform, that’s fine—just be sure the final export opens perfectly in MuseScore or any standard MusicXML reader.
Send a short sample (8 bars is plenty) from a previous pop transcription if you have one so I can confirm we’re on the same page before we dive in. Looking forward to collaborating with someone precise and fast.
