Cover of 'Blinded by the light' for use in a film
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am putting an autobiographical film together and I would like to be able to use a cover of Manfred Manns version of Blinded by the light. A song by Bruce Springsteen.
The film covers a period of my life where I chose to step out of the routine of life and make my own choices. In 2014 I travelled from New Zealand to the USA to tour on a motorcycle for six months, hiking and exploring. Then 5 years in New Zealand where I held a good job but always dreamed of returning to the USA.
In 2020 my children were settled and established on their own journeys and I was ready to return when the pandemic began. Suddenly it took a great deal of courage to leave safety and security of New Zealand, my home and a good career to travel to the USA during the pandemic. I travelled once again by motorcycle, and in my journey, met Teresa and we got married, we found an amazing love. A year after filing immigration, I am now allowed to work in the USA. Making a home in Utah. The film follows this journey, the dreams and courage and finding love. It will include two upcoming trips we plan this year where I will meet Teresas family in Brazil and she will meet my family in New Zealand.
The film is about the choices we can make, believing in dreams and the courage to live them instead of living with the regret of not even trying. In planning this film, I wrote to Manfred Manns Earth Band to see if I could use their version of 'Blinded by the Light'. They have replied and support the project. I have contacted Creative Artists Agency and Sony to use Bruce Springsteen’s song 'Blinded by the Light'. I am still waiting for a reply so want to reach out to explore cover versions that can include the rights to be reproduced legally.
I am starting with just this one song but depending on costs, would like to consider the following songs too.

Baker Street, Gerry Rafferty
I anticipate the film making it to a number of film festivals in the USA and New Zealand, I will also have it on my vimeo channel.
