Prototype Development Using Node-RED, MQTT, and Frigate

We are looking for a freelance developer with strong experience in Node-RED, MQTT, Frigate NVR, and video system integration to build a functional prototype that combines video streams, simulated event messages, and correlation logic.

Responsibilities
• Install and configure:
• Mosquitto MQTT
• Node-RED
• PostgreSQL
• Frigate for video management and recording
• Develop a correlation engine in Node-RED capable of:
• receiving simulated HTTP calls,
• handling and storing process states,
• processing simulated MQTT messages,
• generating final metadata,
• storing results in a database,
• linking metadata to recorded video clips via Frigate API.
• Create a test dashboard for:
• sending simulation commands,
• viewing processed states and outputs,
• accessing associated video clips.

Prototype Goal

Deliver an end-to-end demonstration integrating simulated events, correlation logic, database storage, and recorded video, with results accessible through a simple dashboard.

Required Skills
• Strong expertise in Node-RED (logic flows, state handling, HTTP endpoints, API/DB integration)
• Experience with MQTT
• Good knowledge of Frigate, video recording, and clip retrieval
• Ability to configure Linux environments and server-side services
• Autonomous problem-solving and ability to deliver PoC solutions

2–4 weeks, depending on availability.

Fully remote; access to the development environment will be provided.
