Project Briefing: Christmas Building Projection Mapping Animation

**Project Title:** Multi-Story Building Christmas Projection Mapping Animation – Santa's Workshop (Vertical Format)

**Project Type:** Video Projection Mapping / Motion Graphics Animation

1\. Project Overview and Scope

We are seeking a talented motion graphics artist/animator to create a compelling, festive Christmas projection mapping animation. The final video content will be projected onto a large, multi-story building facade covering **three stories** during the holiday season. The animation must be a visually engaging transformation of the building.

**Key Scope Requirements:**

- **Theme:** **Santa's Workshop.** The animation should depict a vibrant, busy, and magical version of Santa's Workshop, making the building appear to be a part of the scene (e.g., as the workshop itself).
- **Interactivity/Mapping:** The animation must utilize the architecture of the facade (windows, ledges, columns, etc.). The animation should make these features **interact** with the scene—for example, windows lighting up, opening/closing, or showing silhouettes of elves at work inside. This is a crucial requirement for successful projection mapping.
- **Duration:** Please propose a duration (e.g., 1-3 minutes looped), or a minimum of 2 minutes.
- **Deliverables:**
- Final high-resolution animation file, precisely masked and ready for projection mapping.
- Project files (e.g., After Effects, or other software).
- One round of initial concept sketches/storyboard.
- Two rounds of revisions on the animation draft.

2\. Technical Details & Constraints

The animation must be created with a critical understanding of the unique projection setup and the three-story facade.

- **Content Creation Method:** **Working with AI-generated video is totally acceptable, provided the content is seamlessly fitted into the precise video template (mask) of the house.** The final delivery must be a fully masked video file that accurately maps to the building's architecture, regardless of the tools used to create the underlying visual assets.
- **Projection Orientation:** The beamer will be placed **sideways** (rotated 90 degrees) to vertically cover the multiple stories of the building. This results in a tall, narrow projection surface.
- **Facade Dimensions:** The projection area covers **three stories**. The freelancer must consult with us for the exact width and height of the total projection surface.
- **Pixel Aspect Ratio & Resolution:**
- The final output resolution must be calculated to match the rotated projection area. If the physical area is X (width) by Y (height) (where Y is approximately three stories tall), the video file must be rendered at a native resolution of Y (width) by X (height) to compensate for the 90-degree rotation.
- **Freelancer Requirement:** Bidders must detail their experience in calculating custom, non-standard (rotated/vertical) aspect ratios and the specific resolution they would recommend for a crisp image across a multi-story facade, assuming a 4K or higher content resolution is preferred for detail.
- **Source Material:** We will provide high-resolution photos and/or technical drawings of the three-story facade for accurate mapping and template creation.
- **Software/Workflow:** Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects, Blender, or dedicated projection mapping tools (e.g., MadMapper, Resolume Arena) is required.
