3-Minute Dark Mixed-Media Trailer
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
The task is to create a three-minute proof-of-concept trailer that fuses material from my published book of short stories with scenes from my stage plays. I envision a mixed-media approach: animated or motion-treated illustrations from the book, intercut with carefully chosen live-action clips of the plays, all tied together by a moody voice-over reading brief excerpts.
The visual treatment should stay firmly on the dark and moody end of the spectrum—deep shadows, desaturated or limited palettes, and restrained transitions that let the text and performance carry the emotion. Audio is just as critical: the narration needs a clean, cinematic mix layered over subtle atmospheric sound design.
Deliverables
• Storyboard (stills or animatic) that maps out illustration segments, play footage, and narration cues
• Final 3-minute HD video, graded for a dark tone and mixed for stereo playback
• All project files (editing timeline, audio stems, graphic layers) so I can expand the piece later
I already have high-resolution artwork and recorded stage footage; you’ll receive download links once we agree on the structure. Feel free to recommend additional motion-graphics or typography treatments that reinforce the noir aesthetic. A short outline of your concept and the software you’ll use—Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, etc.—will help me see how you plan to bring these disparate elements into one cohesive teaser.
