Early Church Video Series Creation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Job Description:
I am producing a narrated voice-over series featuring the 8 Homilies of Origen on Leviticus (early church, c. 3rd century). The tone is contemplative, reverent, and intellectually rich. Each video runs approximately 15–25 minutes. The audio (narration) is already mixed and mastered.
I need a freelancer to add two elements to complete the visual presentation:
Subtle, Looping Motion Graphics / Visuals – these need to fit an early church / patristic aesthetic:
Illuminated manuscripts (e.g., Codex Sinaiticus, Vaticanus style)
Byzantine iconography (restrained, not overly ornate)
Parchment textures, fading ink, soft candlelight or oil lamp ambience
Very slow zooms, gentle crossfades, “breathing” light effects
No fast cuts, no flashy transitions – the visuals should support spoken-word meditation
Occasional symbolic elements: altar, incense, priestly garments, lamb, ram, calf, dove, flame, tent of meeting
All imagery must be royalty-free, original, or properly licensed (no AI-generated faces if avoidable)
Ambient / Early Church Themed Musical Score (low, underneath narration):
Drone-based, modal (akin to Byzantine chant or early Latin plainchant)
Very sparse – periods of silence are welcome
Instruments: human vocal drone (sampled or synthetic, no words), bowed psaltery, soft lyre, or organum-style pads
No percussion unless extremely subtle (e.g., single bell, frame drum pulse)
Must not compete with spoken word – mix should be -20dB to -25dB below narration peak
Tone Reference (critical):
NOT “Hollywood biblical epic”
NOT happy/major-key praise music
NOT PowerPoint slides with text
YES: contemplative, patristic, monastic, “cathedral at night”
Watch 2–3 minutes of any video from “Theoria” (YouTube) or “Orthodox Wisdom” – that visual/musical restraint is the goal
Sample Cue from Me (optional but helpful):
Imagine a single icon of Christ Pantocrator lit by one candle. The camera moves 2% over 30 seconds. Parchment text fades in and out behind the icon – Greek or Latin uncials, no translation needed. Underneath, a single male vocal drone on a low D. That is the universe of this project.
Deliverables Per Video:
Final video file (animation + music synced to existing narration)
Music stem (optional but appreciated)
Additional Notes:
This is not a “hype” channel. Do not apply if your reel is dominated by EDM, fast motion graphics, or corporate explainer style.
Long-term potential: 8 homilies completed, possibly more patristic content (Ambrose, Chrysostom, Gregory of Nyssa).
