Freelance Brief – Animated Digital Menu Screens
Project Overview

I'm looking for a motion designer to create animated promotional menu screens for a dessert and café business.

The static menu design has already been completed. Your role is not to redesign the menu, but to create engaging looping animations that will be displayed on two TV screens inside the store.

The animation style should be clean, modern and premium while matching the existing brand identity.

Scope of Work

Create 2 animated digital menu screens in 1920 × 1080 (landscape).

The animations will loop continuously on in-store TVs.

The final videos should be smooth, attention-grabbing and suitable for viewing from a distance.

Animation Style

The client likes the idea of food being "assembled" on screen.

Example workflow:
- Empty background
- Waffle appears
- Ice cream drops onto waffle
- Nutella drizzles over the top
- Strawberries slide into place
- Banana slices appear
- Finished product remains on screen
- Call-to-action and branding displayed
- Loop back to beginning

The animation should feel polished and premium rather than overly flashy.

Simple camera movement, scaling, masking, sauce pours, ingredient transitions and subtle motion are encouraged.

- Avocado
- Tomato
- Pebre
- Tomato sauce
- Mayonnaise

Depending on timing, these products may be split across the two screens or incorporated into a single animation sequence.

Assets Provided

I will provide:
- Existing branding
- Logo
- Colour palette
- Fonts (or font files if licensed)
- Existing menu design
- High-resolution food photography
- Product references
- Store branding
- Creative direction

No design work is required beyond matching the existing visual style.

Deliverables

Please provide:
- 2 x MP4 looping animations
- 1920 × 1080 resolution
- 25–30 fps
- Seamless looping
- Editable After Effects project (or source files)
- Any linked assets used in the project
- Animation Length

Target length:
- 10–20 seconds per animation before looping.

Revisions

Include:
- Two rounds of revisions.
- Proposal Requirements

Please include:
- Portfolio of similar menu, hospitality or food animations
- Estimated turnaround time
- Software used
- Fixed project price
- Confirmation that editable source files are included

Notes

The focus is on creating premium-looking motion graphics that help sell the food. Readability and visual appeal are more important than complex animation.

This project may lead to ongoing work for restaurant and café clients if the quality is high.
