LMS: Joomla to Moodle migration + secure video delivery specialist
Budget: $10,000 – $20,000 CAD
We’re a small education organisation replacing a legacy Joomla learning portal with a secure Moodle-based platform. The site hosts ~222 courses and >1,000 videos (~1.3 TB). After a recent compromise we need a secure, maintainable LMS and separation of media from the application server.
We seek a specialist with proven experience in:
• Moodle implementations and migrations (including quiz/question-bank and historical attempts migration)
• Secure video storage and private CDN delivery (S3/CloudFront or equivalent; signed URLs/cookies or token-based playback)
• Server-to-cloud media transfer of large libraries
• Designing secure, maintainable production and staging environments (MFA for admins, backups, patching, role-based access)
• Minimal custom development. Prefer native Moodle features and lightweight plugins
• Documentation and staff handover
Scope
• Conduct a focused Discovery phase: review current Joomla site data, inventory courses/videos/exam/users, and produce a recommended migration and architecture plan with cost estimates for video storage and delivery.
• After Discovery approval, implement production and staging Moodle environments, migrate agreed content, transfer videos to chosen object storage, configure CDN and protected playback integrated with Moodle access control, configure quizzes/exams and grading workflows, and deliver documented backups and a tested restore.
• Provide documentation and training for internal staff and a defined post-launch support window.

• Short team/consultant intro and relevant Moodle project examples or case studies.
• Proposed Discovery approach estimated timeline and fixed price for Project.
• Pricing model for Implementation and example costs for storage/CDN based on ~1.3 TB.
