React Node Marketplace MVP
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I need a bare-bones product marketplace built with React on the front end and Node.js on the back end. The platform will focus on physical goods only, so a clean catalogue, product detail pages, and a straightforward checkout flow are all that’s required for this first release.
Core scope for this MVP
• Account creation and sign-in (email/password is fine).
• Product listing management so I can add, edit, and remove items from a simple admin screen.
• Public product pages showing images, price, and description.
• Built-in user reviews and ratings displayed on each product page.
• Wishlist functionality that lets logged-in users save products for later.
• Basic in-app messaging so a buyer can send a question to a seller from a product page.
Technical notes
– React + React Router for page navigation.
– Node.js with Express for the REST API.
– MongoDB is my preferred database, but I’m open to Postgres if you already have a starter template.
– Keep the UI minimal; a simple Material-UI or Bootstrap layout is enough. No need for complex styling at this stage.
Deliverables
1. Source code in a GitHub or GitLab repo.
2. A short README with setup steps and environment variables.
3. Postman collection (or similar) documenting the main API endpoints.
The goal is a working, install-and-run prototype that covers the essentials so I can demo basic buyer and seller flows. If things go well, I’ll spin up a larger phase for payments, order tracking, and a polished UI.
