Overhaul React Real-Estate Site
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Our property-listing platform is live on a React front-end with a Node.js / Express back-end, but a number of core elements were left unfinished. I need an experienced full-stack developer to turn the current proof-of-concept into a production-ready application.
Current pain points
• The authentication system fails intermittently and offers no password reset or email verification.
• Role-based access control was never wired up, so agents, buyers, and admins all see the same limited dashboard.
• Listing submission throws server-side errors and stores only static placeholder data.
• Navigation feels clunky, design elements look dated, and the site is not fully responsive on tablets or small laptops.
• Admin dashboard is half-built; critical controls (user management, listing moderation, analytics) are missing.
• Much of the front-end still pulls hard-coded JSON instead of live data from MongoDB.
What I expect you to deliver
1. Robust JWT (or comparable) authentication with secure signup, login, email verification, and password reset.
2. Granular role-based permissions so admins, agents, and general users each access only their respective screens and actions.
3. Fully functional listing workflow: create, edit, publish/unpublish, and delete—complete with image uploads and server-side validation.
4. Migration of all static data calls to dynamic REST endpoints; optimize queries for speed.
5. A clean, modern UI: improved navigation hierarchy, consistent typography/color palette, and fully responsive layouts using React hooks, React Router, and styled-components (or Tailwind—open to your suggestion).
6. Completed admin dashboard featuring user management, listing moderation, and basic traffic analytics.
7. End-to-end testing (Jest / React Testing Library and Supertest) plus concise technical documentation.
Acceptance criteria
• All listed features run error-free in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
• Lighthouse mobile & desktop scores ≥ 90.
• All CRUD endpoints return expected JSON and pass automated tests.
• Code pushed to GitHub with a clear commit history and a short README explaining setup and deployment.
Tech stack is locked to React 18, Node.js 18, Express, MongoDB, and Git; please confirm prior experience with this toolkit when you respond.
