MongoDB Schema & Performance Overhaul

Job ID: 39819108

Budget: $2 – $8 USD

I run a production MongoDB deployment that is beginning to outgrow its original structure. I need a seasoned database professional who can take ownership of three critical areas:

• Schema design – evaluate the current collections, spot data-modelling flaws, then propose and implement a cleaner, future-proof schema that still works with existing application code.
• Indexing and optimization – audit slow queries, design the right compound or partial indexes, and fine-tune server parameters so we see concrete gains in read/write latency and overall throughput.
• Backup and recovery – set up automated, versioned backups (preferably using `mongodump`/`mongorestore` or Ops Manager), test restores on a staging instance, and document the process so disaster recovery is a two-click job.

I will provide access to a staging replica of the current database, schema diagrams generated by `mongodump --archive`, and slow-query logs. I’m looking for measurable improvements: sub-second responses for our heaviest queries, an index hit rate above 90 %, and a successfully restored backup that matches production byte-for-byte.

If this matches your MongoDB skill set, let’s get started.
