Fix a small bug in an Amazon Fire app

Job ID: 32047839

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

Hi, I’m not a programmer. I’m a doctor and I work with children who have difficulties learning to read (Dyslexia). To help these children I’ve had an app developed which runs on Amazon Fire tablets and there is a bug which needs fixing. Attached are 2 videos (each less than 20 seconds) which show the problem.
Video 1 will show you what the app does on an iPad tablet. You will see that when a child touches a word that single word is read aloud.
Video 2 shows the bug on an Amazon Fire tablet. When a child touches a word the word that is read aloud is not always the word that is touched. I need this fixed. I have the source code for the app.
The app is on the Amazon app store, it’s free, and is called Read-it. This is a link.
The overall purpose of the app is that if a child with dyslexia has difficulty reading a word on an Amazon Fire screen then all they need do is touch the word and it will be immediately read aloud. This will enable the child to carry on reading without hesitation and help them more easily understand the text.
Also.
To get the text the child wants to read onto the screen is proving too difficult for children with dyslexia (and many of their parents and teachers) and I need this to be very simple.
• The current version will work mainly on PDFs and I’d like it to work on other files, particularly Kindle books and eBooks.
If you apply for the project please mention that you have seen the videos so I can be confident you know what I need done.
